Appin is an excellent centre for visiting this beautiful part of Scotland. To the north of Appin are Glencoe, Fort William, Mallaig, Ben Nevis and The Great Glens (Loch Ness and Inverness). To the south are Glen Etive, Oban, Seil Island, Inverary, Loch Awe and the Kintyre Penninsula. Take the ferry to the Isles from Oban. The villages of Appin and Port Appin are only a short walk and a few minutes away with 2 award-winning restaurants, excellent pub, and shops.
Around Appin there are excellent forest walks, horse riding, boat hire, golf, fishing, climbing and diving. In winter you can ski on Glencoe or Ben Nevis.
With no immediate neighbours and set off it's own single track road, Ardselma cottage is the perfect getaway - the convenient location is very peaceful yet close to amenities. The cottage is centred in it's own large beautiful private garden and there is a good sized driveway with plenty of parking. From every window you will find a stunning view and historic Castle Stalker is only a short walk away. Guests are always delighted with the wildlife (deer, golden eagles, pine martins etc.) that can be been seen from the cottage.
There are fantastic scenic walks and nature trails starting from the front gate !
